Hi, I’m David — a street photographer based in Vienna, Austria.
I’m drawn to the contrasts that make this city so alive: young and old, native and foreign, chaos and geometry, stillness and motion. In my photos, I try to capture emotion and human connection — small, fleeting moments that hint at the lives unfolding around us.
I’ve been passionate about photography since childhood, which led me to attend die Graphische in Vienna, where I learned photography (yes, with real film, dark rooms, chemicals and all that!) and graduated in 2007. After a long detour through 3D design and illustration, I now work as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer in advertising and the board game industry. If you’re interested in that part, you can take a look here.
In 2025, I picked up my camera again — at first as a way to cope with depression and get moving. I began walking through Vienna with the simple goal of taking photos and getting some steps in. It quickly became something more. Now I go out at least every other day, camera in hand, documenting the city district by district. My current passion project is to capture life in all 23 districts of Vienna — maybe someday an exhibition or book can emerge from that.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my work.
